Thanks!

It's 3AM, I guess technically the "morning" after Thanksgiving (hopefully my morning lasts until 1PM tomorrow). I'm thinking about what I'm thankful for this year compared to the previous. In the past year I've been successful at both, failing and succeeding with different tasks and responsibilities. I've gained a lot of great people, as well as, lose some. I believe the past is only there for two reasons, to learn from your mistakes and make your best, well, even better.

I'm so thankful for every person I've became close with throughout the years that help to get me through those stressful days. I've learned that taking help from people does not always make you dependent. Everyday is a new chance to learn something new. The people closest to you are always the first to teach you with the simplest forms of kindness.
Happy "Late" Thanksgiving :)

Snow & Sparkle

Morgantown, WV had it's first snowfall of the season today! I don't know if she knows, but my roommate said something great tonight. "I love the snow, it makes nighttime look so much brighter." Other than the fact it adds some contrast to the black sky, she definitely has a point! This statement goes hand in hand when it comes to pulling out your winter apparel. Layers are the best excuse to add more bright colors and sparkle to your day. In the midst of layering on every knit you have for warmth, you can't forget about the little details. Below are my "Items of the Week," sure to brighten any cold day or night**

Learning New Analogies From The Pros

I had the honor to meet the founder of Garner Circle PR and lifestyle marketing agency, Nicole Garner,  last week in Philadelphia. "Are You In? Inc.is her new book, that is a must read for anyone who wants to work with fashion or entertainment.
Inside the book, Nicole Garner uses a great analogy for people who don't know the difference between Advertising and Public Relations.

A little sneak peak from "Are You In? Inc.":

You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a gorgeous girl. One of your friends goes up to her and pointing at you says, "He's very rich. Marry him."

That's Advertising.

You're at a party and see a gorgeous girl.
You get up and straighten your tie; you walk up to her and pour her a drink.
You open the door for her, pick up her bag after she drops it, offer her a ride, and then say,
"By the way, I'm very rich. Will you marry me?"

That's Public Relations.

It's important to know your craft.

Towne & Reese

Charlotte Bracelet paired with Sienna Necklace
*
Reasonably around $20

Towne & Reese jewelry is a great line to bring to everyone's attention around the holidays. In the time of November, it's something for jewelry junkies to be give, receive, and be thankful for.
Consistently recognized by fashion magazines and influencers, Towne & Reese is a brand ladies of all ages crave in their wardrobe of accessories, and is sure to add chic style to any wardrobe or retail collection. The Today Show, Marie Claire, and The Bachelorette are just a few of the positive media placements that Towne & Reese has and continues to catch attention from.
"I'm a agent for Towne & Reese jewelry. By having a sample set on the WVU campus, it gives residents easy access to the line. If interested in Towne & Reese, contact me via email: hope.p.adams@hotmail.com."

Elyse Cuff paired with Summer Ring
*
Reasonably around $30
We all love stores that carry the current trends for the lowest price, but is it made to last? After working at an accessory based PR agency this past summer, one of the main concerns for buyers and consumers is what the product is made out of. All Towne & Reese jewelry is gold & silver-plated, nickel & lead-free. It is a quality jewelry line that maintains it's shine and throws the fearful word: tarnish, out the window!

Online shoppers are welcome for discounted prices :)

Raven + Lily

So far Raven + Lily has been able to reach out to the women artisans in Ethiopia, India, Cambodia and the US--all having areas of poverty in common. Raven + Lily has been able to approach these environments with open arms.
CEO and co-founder Kirsten Dickerson, along with other co-founder and creative director Sophia Hirokawa Lin are passionate about promoting social business models as a means of providing a dignified way to alleviate poverty, especially among at-risk women. The co-founders focus on creating relationships, as well as friendships. These connections are destined for sustainable growth with the support of surrounding communities.

Help Raven + Lily as they discover the talents of the Maasai Women in the Esiteti community in Kenya. Their beadwork is too beautiful to not be seen. The beadwork consists of necklaces, earrings and bracelets. The beaded bangle is the featured item.

Raven + Lily want to do more than to give the Esiteti community the gift of jewelry. Specifically these Maasai women are helping to eradicate FGM (female genital mutilation) from their community. They are already on the right path, being the first generation to send girls to school. The money that Raven + Lily is raising will help cover the project set up, design work, marketing, and initial inventory costs. It takes a lot of resources to launch a partnership like this, but the good news is that we believe the women artisans of Kenya can grow a sustainable business after the initial support of surrounding communities. The Maasai women have decided to send 50 percent of all the money received from the Raven + Lily orders to fund the education of their children at the Esiteti Primary School. With everyone's support, women artisans are receiving the feeling of importance and passing it to their younger generations.

###

**The partnerships allow cofounders to use entrepreneurial skills to give women in poverty a chance to to view their work and talent as consumer products in the fashion market. Raven + Lily believe in these women to achieve more than just their personal goals. They strive to eventually help these women to provide better lives for their families, as well as building a better community as a whole.

Empowering Women Through Design

Important Facts and Deadlines

August 1st is the deadline to donate to this inspiring cause. Help women empowerment to be the next chain reaction.

As a thank you to their Kickstarter supporters, Raven + Lily has some great products to offer, so you can be the first to wear items from their Spring 2014 collection.

Are you a truly adventurous person or know of anyone? For the truly adventurous, they're offering an opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime to Kenya to meet the Maasai women on a seven-day journey with Raven + Lily.
